Investment Environment
With the Zone backing on the city proper, investors can enjoy the present investment environment which is getting perfect. The investment of the infrastructure in the Zone has reached nearly 4 billion RMB yuan, and it has finished the engineering of "seven passed and one leveled project", which means water, electricity, gas, heat, road, telecommunication, sewage disposal and level site, so it has provided convenient conditions for production and dwelling. The traffic in the Development Zone is very convenient. The Qingwei and Yanwei Expressway with two sides closed have been put into use. The Taowei Raiway has started operation. Weihai Airport is at a distance of 20KM from the Zone, where there are airlines to Beijing, Jinan, Harbin, Dalian, Guangzhou, Hainan, etc.. The chartered airplane from Weihai to Seoul has been opened. Weihai New Harbour in the Zone has a 50,000 tonnage liquid berth, 20,000 tonnage containerization berth, 20,000 tonnage coalberth, 10,000 tonnage general berth, and 5000 tonnage passengers berth. Now there are passenger liner and cargo liner from Weihai to Inchon, and cargo liners to Hongkong and Japan. Power Weihai Power Plant located in the Zone has a generating capacity of 2,050,000KW. The generating unit with the capacity of 850,000KW has been put into use. Telecommunication The telecommunication enterprise is so developed that the engineering of the hub of the telecomunication has reached the installation capacity of 19,000 lines of SPC telephone system to communicate with people all over the world. The newly-built telecommunication system of the Zone has the installation capacity of 60,000 lines, and the first international satellite communication system in the nation to Korea has been opened. The second customs office for international mails in Shandong Province has been set up in Weihai. Water Supply
It has the abillity of providing with 100,000 tons of water every day. Heat Supply It provides central heat supply for enterprise and residents, the steam supply capacity of the two heating power station is 170 tons per hour. Drainage It uses the multiple drainage for rain and sewage. The sewage treatment plant has the ability of 125,000 tons of sewage disposal every day. Gas Supply A gas factory that can provide 160,000M3 of steam every day has been set up in the Zone.
