Brief Introduction

        On Oct 21,1992,Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved to be established by the state Council as a national development zone. The administrative area is 72KM2, including the programmed area of 36KM2 and the initial area of 11.88KM2. There are 10 administrative bureaus, 3 subdistrict offices and 37 administrative village under its jurisdiction in the Zone, there are Industrial Parks, Export & Processing Zone, Bonded Area, Financial and Trade District, Residential District, Travelling and Recuperative District. Within one zone, one can be provided with good conditions for working, living, and entertaining, which makes the Zone an ideal place for investment and business.

        Since the establishment of the Zone, 1735 Projects have been introduced with the total investment of 10 billion RMB yuan, among which 345 projects are foreign-invested with the total investment of 1.16 billion USD. The actual use of foreign capital is 370 million USD. The investment is from more than 20 countries and regions, such as Korea, Hongkong, America, Japan, England, India, Slovakia, etc.. Taken foreign-invested enterprises as the main body, 8 pillar industries such as automobile, machinery, electrinocs, chemical, medicine, textiles, foodstuff, buiding material, etc.. have been basically formed. A lot of large scale projects with high level have been established in the Zone and put into operation.
